I was glad to see that they had filled in the many potholes up on Alderman Circle (from High Gate Rd. up to Banks Rd.), but I don't know why they didn't just resurface that section, like they did on the adjacent section.

There are several similar potholes popping up near where Chelsea Drive runs into High Gate Road; these need to at least be filled in to where they are flush with the surrounding road surface, but again, repaving would be more desirable (durable). There is also a worn shoulder where Chelsea cuts off of Banks Road; this should be brought up to grade and paved over.

1244-1380 Capital Boulevard Raleigh, North Carolina - Mordecai
There are several places along the straight sections of Capital Blvd. (Peace Street overpass to the Wake Forest Road overpass) where the asphalt has large cracks in it, and there are many potholes and missing chunks of pavement. These make the ride very treacherous (feel like being on an obstacle course), and could damage a car's alignment, wheels, etc.

821 Wake Forest Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Mordecai
The section of Wake Forest Road from the intersection with Capital Blvd. (Atlantic Avenue) up to and including Blount Street is in terrible condition. This goes by the side of Peace College and the Governor's mansion. The road gets much better down where Blount Street becomes Hammond Road; it is especially bad on the end where Wake Forest Road becomes Blount Street.
  • 3400 High Gate Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Wake County
There is a pothole needing repair where Chelsea Drive ends at High Gate Road. This is in the old Kensington Meadows subdivision, off of Banks Road.
  • 1705 Alderman Circle Raleigh, North Carolina - Wake County
There are at least nine potholes on the section of Alderman Circle between High Gate Road and Banks Road. They filled a couple of them in with just gravel a while back, but they have degraded quickly to where they once again are not flush with the road. More have also appeared in the meantime. They need to do more than just put rocks in the holes!! A more durable fix, like asphalt is what's needed!!
  • 301-309 Hillsborough Street Raleigh, North Carolina - Central
I was going to go swimming early yesterday morning, but they were going to be having a swim meet at Pullen Aquatic Ctr. So, I headed on over to the Millbrook Exchange Park swimming pool. It is really irritating going eastward (and I think westward too for that matter) down Hillsborough Street trying to get onto Capital Blvd. I could not hardly get through one block at a time (certainly no more than two on any of them) before getting caught by a stop light. I had to make five stops just from Ashe Avenue over to S. McDowell St. That is ridiculous! It was around 6:00 in the morning with no cars at the intersections, but yet I got caught by just about every light!! That is pure dumb and crazy!! There ought to be a trigger to change the lights to a "flashing caution" signal during light traffic times (or when little to no cars are at the crossing streets). This would save time, irritation, and costs in wasting fuel (and brakes) sitting there idling at an unoccupied intersection.
  • U. S. Hwy. 401 South/N. Main Street Fuquay Varina, North Carolina - Wake County
There is a dip in the road, heading north (towards Garner) out of Fuquay-Varina. It is located in front of Revels Tractor (John Deere dealership). I think it is on both the northbound and southbound sides, but I am certain it is on the northbound end of U. S. highway 401 (Fuquay's North Main Street).
  • Downtown Fuquay-Varina Fuquay Varina, North Carolina - Wake County
I feel like I am maneuvering an obstacle coarse when going through Fuquay-Varina's Main Street. Some of the man hole covers are in the "wheel tracks" and are inconsistently placed and they are at varying positions, virtually all of them are not flush with the road. This holds especially true for S. McDowell Street heading northward through downtown Raleigh.
  • 10801-10899 State Road 1006 Raleigh, North Carolina - Wake County
There is a really bad dip in Old Stage Road, heading away from the convenience center towards the intersection with Fanny Brown Road. I am afraid it will damage my car which sits pretty low, or knock it out of alignment. Very irritating!
  • Western Boulevard Raleigh, North Carolina - Hillsborough
The stoplight where Hunt Drive intersects with Western Blvd. (across from the Central Prison main entrance, coming down from Dix Hill) will not change (to a green signal) for motorcycles. Additionally, this is a treacherous place to get onto Western Blvd. because clear sight distance in both directions is quite limited, and people routinely go well in excess of the posted 45 mph maximum speed limit!
  • 9837-9897 Fayetteville Road Fuquay Varina, North Carolina - Wake County
The intersection shoulders at the entrance to the Sheetz convenience store and the Bojangle's restaurant are dug out; they need to be filled in, thereby bringing them up to the level of the road.
  • 8729 Lake Wheeler Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Wake County
There is a need for a stoplight (or at least an "all-stop" designation) at the intersection of Lake Wheeler Road and Donny Brook Road. The shoulders are pretty badly eroded, too, including where Ransdell Rd. cuts off from Donny Brook Road.
  • 8187-8219 Lake Wheeler Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Wake County
The pavement is cracking apart and some chunks are missing in the several hundred yards section of Lake Wheeler Road between Ten-Ten Road and Optimist Farm Road.
  • 3600 Yates Mill Pond Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Wake County
There is a pothole at the entrance to the convenience center.
  • 4699 Lake Wheeler Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Wake County
The stoplight at the intersection of Lake Wheeler Road and Penny Road is in bad need of a dedicated left turn signal, so that one can turn off of Lake Wheeler Road onto Penny Road. It is almost always backed up there for folks trying to turn in front of (or behind) a bunch of cars heading south on Lake Wheeler Road, from Raleigh towards Fuquay-Varina, especially during the daily bipolar "rush hours!" Also, there it is especially needed since 1) it is a fairly direct link over to Cary, and 2) there is a convenience center on Yates Mill Pond Road people are trying to drop their recyclables and trash off at!!!
  • 7027-7099 Rock Service Station Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Wake County
The stoplight at the intersection of Rock Service Station Road and N. C. Hwy. 42 will not change for motorcycles.
  • 3040 Banks Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Wake County

There has been a badly eroded shoulder at the intersection of Banks Road and Fanny Brown Road for a long time now. I have made a request for this to be addressed a good while back, but still it is there posing a great threat to safety and damage to vehicles! It was good to see that they did some work further down Fanny Brown Road (resurfacing), and I was thinking they were going to fix those really bad shoulders, but it has never happened.

This is potentially dangerous as it is a very hard drop-off from the road's level: could damage someone's car or cause an accident, etc.

    Please get this fixed ASAP!!

  • 1705 Alderman Circle Raleigh, North Carolina - Wake County

There has been a pothole on Alderman Circle for quite a while now. It is right near the intersection with Banks Road. The road was repaired a while back, I think, but they must have missed this spot (or it popped up later on).

Glad to see they recently had bushhogged the right side of Alderman Circle there in that area (was getting really overgrown, encroaching in to the road). I routinely pick up litter in my subdivision, Kensington Meadows, and make a pass along that section of Alderman Circle; having it cleared back really helps in deep cleaning up that side and the adjacent ditch!

  • 10600 Chelsea Drive Raleigh, North Carolina - Wake County
There is a dug-out place in the shoulder of the road, turning into the Kensington Meadows subdivision (Chelsea Dr.), off of Banks Road. It has been there for a long time, water collects there all the time.
  • 5400-5412 Highway 42 Garner, North Carolina - Johnston County
The stoplight at the intersection of Glen Road and N. C. hwy. 42 (at McDonald's restaurant) will not change back to green for a motorcycle.
