This is a request for the A2 Police to post a speed trap and crosswalk ticket operation at the crosswalk on Nixon at Clague. Drivers blow through the crosswalk ignoring the "Local Law" which is seldom enforced. Impatient drivers pass stopped buses and other traffic, endangering pedestrians. A morning crossing guard, a police employee, has complained about almost getting hit and how scary the site is. We cannot afford to wait until one of our loved ones is injured or killed to fix this issue. Some speeding is done from the north along the stretch of road from Green towards Clague. Some is rush hour racing at the end of the day heading north out of town. Either way, there are plenty of dollars the city could make ticketing those drivers who fail to stop for pedestrians. A camera, a hidden patrol car, an officer on foot with a camera? Now that is it dark in the morning, the danger increases for those who walk. With all our public investment in sidewalks, we need to not only encourage walking but make it a safe choice.

Missed recycling bin for me and some neighbors on the same side of Southwick.

The trash was not picked up. It is in the bin, not excessively heavy. My next door neighbor’s trash at 28 Southwick was also missed.
