Sharps - i see a needle here by the pool/playground. Its on the edge of the path between the pool and russel field.
I wasnt sure if i was supposed to report this (I believe residents are not supposed to pick it up to dispose of ourselves - i dont know of the location of a sharps container) thank you!

When it rains, a large puddle accumulates in the street on Rindge Ave., by the O'Neill Library. Those walking to the library or the Peabody/RUAC schools are at risk of getting soaked by the many cars that pass. Cars driving at a normal speed cause a spray of water at least 6' long which entirely covers the sidewalk (hitting at adult knee-height or higher). Some drivers are aware of this and either come to a near standstill, or cross the yellow line into the oncoming lane to avoid drenching pedestrians. But even a moderate speed can cause significant spray. I always stop my kids before we pass this area on the way to school (or other times), looking behind to see if cars are coming, then I wait for a pause and tell them to run (and run myself!) but I worry about students at the school, (particularly older children who might not be walking with a parent, and not looking out for the puddle) , they could be sitting in wet clothes all day. Honestly any person - child or adult, walking down the sidewalk, caught unawares, could be drenched at any time. There are other points along Rindge Ave that have potential for puddle spray, but this one is particularly noteworthy and I think something needs to be done. Thanks!

walk/ don't walk signal pointing so it cannot be seen on crosswalk.
  • Jackson And Rindge Cambridge, Massachusetts - North Cambridge
Jackson St is closed, but the sign is way off to the side, and, since Jackson is one way, there is no way for residents on that first block to get out to Rindge (unless they drive the wrong way) so we assumed the street blockage would be past the intersection with Dudley. We drove down to Dudley and the street is blocked there. So we had to turn around, and drive the wrong way down Jackson (we were trying to get to clifton). 1. What are the Jackson St residents supposed to do? 2. There needs to be a sign on Rindge BEFORE Montgomery St, informing people of this. 3. If the street really is closed, it should be blocked off completely at Rindge.
  • 265 Rindge Ave Cambridge, Massachusetts - North Cambridge
Part of the sidewalk is shoveled, the part in front of the building at 265 Rindge Ave. However, the portion of the sidewalk in front of the side yard, is not shoveled.

The walk signal to cross Rindge is pointing so that it's impossible for pedestrians to see.
