I know this has already been reported, but I wanted to attach a picture of the jagged bit of metal that is sticking out of the sidewalk. This is a serious hazard. PLEASE deal with this soon!

At least two of the lampposts in Bergin Park are not functioning--especially important in the winter when it gets dark early and there are still kids and families walking the surrounding neighborhoods after sundown.

Today in Harvard Sq., there was one of those mobile LED truck billboards parked on the street in front of the Aesop store, BLARING an advertisement for its own services. It was unpleasantly and disruptively loud, and it went on for several minutes. I called the admin number at the police department and was told that they'd received several complaints over the past month, but there was nothing they could do. I know we have a noise ordinance--doesn't this fall under it? Am I to assume that it would be ok for unlimited trucks to blare their advertisements all at the same time? Why is this being permitted?

Compost wasn't picked up on 7/3 for 1 Kimball Lane, 4 Kimball Lane, and 23 Hollis St. Thanks!
  • Hollis Park Cambridge, Massachusetts, 02140 - North Cambridge
Didn't know where else to put this, but HOLLIS PARK does not have a street sign! Hollis Park is one of three dead-end lanes off of Hollis St., so it is confusing to delivery services, and as a result, packages in the neighborhood have been frequently misdelivered. Please remedy this, thank you!

Recycling missed for both homes on Kimball Lane as well as 23 Hollis St. (whose collection is also on Kimball Lane.) Please note: included is an old rubber garbage can and mismatched lid, both for recycling. Thanks!

Actually, it's not missed but the wheels on the toter broke: the plastic piece where one wheel attached to the axle is broken, so if there's a way to just snap on a new wheel, it does not need to be replaced. Otherwise, we need a new one. Thank you.

Compost for 1 Kimball Lane, 4 Kimball Lane, and 23 Hollis St. were not collected on the regular pick-up day of Monday, 2/24. Thank you.
  • 2-62 Yerxa Rd Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North Cambridge
There is a nail sticking up on the sidewalk that runs along Peabody School, right near the crosswalk at Yerxa. My daughter tripped on it, and someone else will too. Please fix.

The 4-way stop at Rindge/Cedar/Middlesex is still hard for many drivers to remember or see. The problem is mainly with the Rindge traffic--it's not intuitive for that traffic to stop. I almost had an accident as I was turning onto Rindge from Cedar because of a driver running the stop-sign. I walk by or through that intersection a lot, and have lost count of the number of times I have witnessed cars honking at other drivers running the sign. Can additional signage or paint (i.e. stronger bright white lines, "STOP" lettered on the street) be added to increase safety?
  • 101-199 Rice St Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North Cambridge
The sudden conversion of this intersection to a "4-way" stop has not gone smoothly. First of all, there is such an established traffic pattern there that cars on Rindge are still failing to stop, and I have seen two near-collisions (and angry gesturing, honking, confusion). It would have been prudent to reinforce the new pattern with "STOP" lettered on the street, or ideally, flashing lights. Secondly, as it's an oddly configured intersection, it's difficult for it to truly be a 4-way stop: does a car turning left onto Cedar from Rindge have the right to complete this entire maneuver on its turn, or is it merely allowed to advance into the intersection but then have to yield to the opposing car on Rindge, which has probably initiated its turn in the meantime? Can a car wishing to cross Rindge from Middlesex to Cedar have the right to do so on its turn, or again, must it advance into the intersection but then yield, either to a car on Rindge or a car coming from Cedar? Please study this situation further.

On several recent mornings, I have been in my car on Mass Ave. waiting in the left lane to take a left turn onto Rindge Ave., and the left-turn arrow never appears--it goes straight from green to yellow to red. Cars have been piling up, confused, or worse, they start getting desperate and turning into the oncoming traffic. Oddly, I've notice the arrow working later in the day. What's going on?

Lane still needs to be ploughed: emergency vehicles might not be able to access in current condition. Thanks.
