Town tree (between sidewalk and curb) fell during Superstorm Sandy and its roots had uplifted several sections of sidewalk. The tree and broken sidewalk sections were subsequently removed by the town and temporarily replaced with sand. Additionally, nearby spots of front lawn and some grass between sidewalk and curb near to remaining intact sections of sidewalk were torn up when town used heavy equipment to lift broken tree limbs that they had moved from in the street onto the lawn and then when they had returned at a later time to pick up these limbs. These areas also need new top soil and to be seeded. Lastly, the curb and roadbed along curb was also damaged and is breaking apart. When is this location being scheduled for installation of new sidewalk sections, curb/road repair along with adjacent new top soil and grass seeding? Town of Smithtown - Please kindly update with estimated timeframe.

The street light on the pole just north of the intersection of Boxwood Drive and Lawrence Rd (on the west side of Lawrence Rd) is not illuminating since it is not getting electric power to the pole. The street light on this pole may likely still be OK as it had been recently changed to a brighter type of white light bulb as per customer request due to insufficient street lights in the surrounding area. Prior to the recent outage of this due to Hurricane Sandy, the LIPA power going to this pole (from the grounds of the former Kings Park Psych Center) had to be first restored in order for the street light on that pole to work. This is most likely the case once again. If bulb is actually out, please ensure replacing with the same bright white type of bulb that is currently in place (not the yellow sodium type). Dangerous condition exists at night due to the pitch blackness of the area as a result, particularly considering an uprooted sidewalk in the immediate area which gets a lot of foot traffic.
