DGS has started heavy work on a rehabilitation project of the field next to the Marie Reed Recreation Center (bounded by 18th, California, and Champlain Streets NW and Florida Ave NW). On behalf of my neighbors and me, I'm writing because we're concerned that the work will disturb the extensive rat burrows under and surrounding the field.

Would it be possible to preemptively install rat abatement measures around the field? Does it make sense to do that? Thanks for considering this request.
