Description
Small jewelry shop on High School Road has a traffic-blocking sign at the curb in front of the shop..cars exiting from the Island Crossings garage have great difficulty seeing oncoming traffic adequately. ALSO, large loosely-tied banner hangs from the awning of the jewelry shop ...oddly, covering a sign on a large window. Why so much signage for such a small shop ????? No other business on Bainbridge has so much signage.

Was a valid sign permit issued for the hanging banner in front of the jewelry shop? The banner is very loosely and unevenly tied. It flaps in the wind and can be a distraction to motorists in a short three-lane configuration portion of Highschool Road and the entrance to the IC garage. A great deal of the text is unreadable unless one stands directly in front of it and there is no wind blowing.
Re the traffic blocking sign....it is very ugly. It is faded and portions of the cover are torn off ... not a good advertisement for the jewelry shop or for the investment values of the 60 some owners and residents of Island Crossing.
I was almost hit when exiting the Island Crossings garage by a car turning right onto Highschool Road from the service station. A large vehicle AND the jeweler's sign, exrtended beyond it, blocked my view. Several residents of IC have mentioned that this has also happened to them.
