Hi Skip,
Glad to hear that they got to it eventually. Every spring and summer local public works departments have to spend a lot of time repairing road damage from plowing, frost heaves, and wear and tear from vehicles. They obviously missed that one for a while but if the problem returns each year it sounds like the intersection may have a design flaw.
Maybe someone from public works is reading and might share his/her thoughts?
ROC, that's also good info because if bicyclists are giving the intersection a lot of use, there's certainly an additional safety issue if that section is crumbling. The crosswalk issue could be the town's responsibility, or it could be the state's.
I'll do some digging to see if I can find out on Monday.

In the photo, the street condition looks like a significant hazard to cyclists. I will forward the issue to a few cyclists in the area.
Are there any other residents you could forward this to? The more people concerned here, the more likely this is to get fixed.

Ugh... this one's taking forever.
The Public Works Department is available here: (860) 644-2511, Ext 343
Tell them the work was unsatisfactory and maybe they'll send a crew back out to finish the job.
