Paging Lance Lubin, esteemed homeowner’s association president....why is this still happening? I thought you were putting an end to snipe signs once and for all??!?!!
Whatever program the city was running to eliminate snipe signs has clearly failed.
You are highly encouraged to stop your car safely, pick up the signs and discard. If enough of us did this, the problem would end within weeks.
I sense no small amount of sarcasm. Starting a separate community patrol is a daunting task. This discussion is setting about to do exactly that, but with no official organization. No one says you have to go out at 2:00 in the afternoon. The mornings and evenings work just as well. Many times the snipe signs are put corners where there are commercial enterprises, and it's easy enough to just pull over, grab them and throw them in your trunk. Then throw them out when you get home.
I am out and about all over town every day. If you post here intersections where you've seen them, then I will stop and pick them up. Perhaps others may choose to do the same. If a dozen people are doing this just in their ordinary course of events, the problem WILL disappear. By the time one of these people has to replace the snipe sign three times, they're just going to stop.
The City of St Petersburg periodically reviews old SeeClickFix reports in an effort to clean-up past issues that were resolved some time ago. We are now marking as 'closed' those issues that were submitted in the past for which the work has been completed or the issue has otherwise been resolved.
If you think for any reason that the issue you submitted in the past might still be unresolved, please feel free to submit a new report with the SeeClickFix St. Pete website or mobile app and we will make sure the issue is directed to the appropriate City department to be addressed as soon as possible.
