Description

we have lived in the fletcher/Laughlin/bellawood area for years. Over the last two years we have a great concern as to what is being used in the fertilizatioin of the farm land that surrounds this area. for years we all have become accustom to the fertilizer/manure that is used on the farms, but for the last two years a "liquid" fertilizer has been used and it is just horrible.. It is not the "usual" that has been used for years and we think the town should know just what is in this mixture that is being used these last two years. It is a rancid, sickening, smell.. Nothing like in years past. After being outside for a while, you come in with a headache for hours. As you know this area is all well water. What is being put in the ground ends up in our wells. We are requesting that some testing be done on just what is in this "new" liquid mixture. I realize the area we have lived in has farms and with that comes smells but nothing like in the last two years since the liquid manure has been put down, especially along Laughlin and bellawood rd. Please have this checked out for the safety of our area and our drinking water. It is not the same fertilizer as in the years past. Please have the soil tested. Last year was the first year this new stuff was used, in the spring the cornfields were nice and green and within 3 weeks the areas were all yellow and dead, definitely not the same as over the many years, Please for the health of this area check out what is being used.
