Thank you for reporting. Issues like double parking, cars in bike lanes, etc. should be reported as they occur to the Cambridge Police Department Non-Emergency line at 617-349-3300 so that units can be dispatched to the location at the time such issues are seen. This system is best suited to respond to service requests like potholes, street lights, rodent issues, etc. that can be assigned to staff and addressed in a timely manner.
However, we will share this concern with the appropriate departments so that this report can be taken into consideration as we study future roadway design and enforcement efforts.
If you would like to discuss this traffic situation with a staff member in more detail, please contact the Traffic Department at trafficengineering@cambridgema.gov.
I would like to know when enforcement activities will be put in place in this location as it literally happens daily. Alternatively, please let the community know what outreach has been undertaken with UPS, FEDEX and USPS. Without one or both of these actions being taken the City is implicitly sanctioning the illegal, unsafe actions of a few companies and their drivers.
ChrisRoof - please let us know if this is an issue that you are continuing to see. If so, please let us know the specific times when you see these issues occurring.
