There may be an opportunity to repair this in the spring in conjunction with the path rehabilitation in the spring. We have scoped and priced out doing the work and it's not feasible with the maintenance budget given the length of the path that would need to be raised in order to move that water towards a spot that will drain. It's actually cheaper to regrade the adjacent road once the WAN project is complete, which we can afford, and which will allow users to bypass the puddle. This issue is further complicated by the characterization of the soils just beneath the surface, we cannot trench or install a catch basin without going through a full environmental assessment. Short term fixes include pumping the water out - we will continue if the equipment and personnel are available.

Parks has worked with SD Ireland to remove their project fencing heading north along the access road in the urban reserve. Users of the Bike Path now have an option to avoid drainage area by using the access road. Construction of the new Bike Path through that section will begin in the spring.
