Parking Place for Rent, Near Hospital and UVM
NAN REID, NANREID9@GMAIL.COM, FLETCHER PL
I have an extra off-street parking spot available for rent. I live one block from the University of Vermont Medical Center, and UVM. $15 per week
I also noticed that this end of the street is labeled private parking only but yet the whole street was repaved at public expense last year. How can this be? Can someone explain?

Thanks for this quick fix but...
The street is posted private parking yet city trucks were doing the paving? How can this be? Can you please explain to the rest of us who pay BIG tax dollars.

The street is posted for resident parking only. Resident parking is not the same as private parking.
This is a city street and the Engineering Department at DPW can explain when you call them.

Paul,
You are wrong to assume we don't leave the office. We know the street you are talking about and we have been there during the course the complaints you filed. The first statement you made was that the street was posted private parking. That was incorrect. It is posted resident parking. The north end of the street has a non-regulatory sign for private parking. This is not a city sign but you are right to say that at the extreme north end of the street the is one a private parking sign. The original acceptance of the street by the city only recognized the city street as a shorter distance from Colchester Avenue to the north end, as depicted on the attached photo with a red line. (approximately 1900)

If you have questions about the right of way for the street you can ask at the city attorney's office or contact the Department of Public Works.
This is not a violation.
