Description
Recently I have noticed that this light turns red (Thompson Lane direction) every 5 minutes or so despite the fact that 99% of the time there is no traffic coming out of Simmons Ave. This has caused major traffic backups and it appears to happen all times of day. I thought these were smart and set to turn if traffic was coming the other direction for better flow of traffic. This is very frustrating sitting at a light for a couple of minutes to sit there and watch nothing come out of the street that I am stopped for.

While I understand your frustration, as a motorcyclist whose bike does not always trigger a green light from Simmons turning onto Thompson, I rely on the timing to allow me safe passage onto Thompson. It is the only light that allows light vehicles to safely enter Thompson Lane from the neighborhood.
I wonder if a 7-10 minute delay might serve Thompson Lane traffic more efficiently.
