Description
There is a hugh maple tree in the back of 413 Walnut St with many dead branches that need to be removed to prevent damage to nearby houses. Some branches broke off & are just laying on other branches.

A while back there was a posting on the City's new Tree Ordinance. How's that coming?

Property was inspected after last posting. All trees are on private property and do not encroach on walkways or cartway as required under tree ordinance for enforcement.

I'd like to read this Tree Ordinance - where can a citizen do this? It sounds like it's a bunch of billowy language with no meaning to the average property owner who needs assistance in maintaining good-looking neighborhoods.

Under "Government" click on council then "minutes." The tree ordinance is on the minutes for March 26, 2012.
Hope this helps.
Tree keeps dropping dead branches and property owner should be notified to at least have some prunning done.

Notifying owner is a good idea, but I just paid hundreds to get my neighbors trees trimmed off my property/to property line. Better than paying for a new roof, or taking to small claims court after damage is done (think winter ice storm). Some folks just don't care!
