Description
The section of City property between the street and sidewalk is a total mess from the City allowing cars to park on this area. See Click fix 16427160. I believe this area is to be maintain by home owners. I can't find the proper code but 323-30 damage to sidewalks, 323-46 & 323-47Grade & level could cover it. But with the city departments not wanting to enforce one thing has caused another problem. How can the City say that we are responsible for this area if you allow the parking? This section of this neighborhood looks real bad. Also has cause another problem with the curbs being the same height as street which could be a hazard for pedestrians The street itself has a dip in it just after the intersection of Southern blvd and McAlpine street that was reported to click fix many months ago and nothing has been done. Maybe this is the reverse design of a speed bump a speed dip. But cars go into opposite lane to avoid this dip. This dip was from excavation or repair of some sort .This is a main street for others from different places to travel in and out of our city and we really show them what we are. Maybe we can direct them to travel to Stanwix street where curbs, sidewalks, and the street have been done to perfection. They even have a speed bump for the many cars that travel that street. that's about one tenth the amount of traffic on Southern Blvd. Oh Stanwix Street is off Second Ave.

Maybe 2 departments can have a meeting on how to correct this problem. Today there was a DGS truck parked over the curb to go into corner store truck 509 or 505 pickup. Didn't have my phone to take a picture. I've replied to the 16427160 also to say that the answer of we have to see it to believe and close the issue is like saying the police dept has to see a bank get robbed to believe and do nothing else but give a standard answer. Similar to what you have done. Sure, would be nice to have this main Blvd that many travel on to come into and out of Albany and to other suburbs to see that the city does cares. I also in one of these clicks fix mention the street that has a large dip in it for the last 2 years that also was reported on click fix and they got the same standard answer. Sad I'm doing this at the request of a city dept that thought things were being corrected not just cut and paste a standard answer . And yes they are still driving around this dip into oncoming traffic.
