Description

What a sad situation in Washington park. One of the first truly beautiful days and families are trying to enjoy a quiet walk in the park and there are ongoing motorcycles, dirt bikes, and ATVs racing through the park and up and down Madison destroying the peaceful environment with all their noise and making it dangerous for pedestrians and drivers alike. This is just one example of the vehicles driving on green space at the park endangering children running around in the park as they should be able to. Many families can't afford sprawling backyards and this is their children's only option for play and exercise. There's nothing the police can do unless they are actually present when these violations occur so at minimum residents should not only be allowed, but encouraged to continue posting about these issues including photos that could be helpful in addressing the situation. The same goes for not allowing noise violations to be posted. People call the police for noise but it is not a top priority, so then there's no documentation of nuisance properties or awareness by the rest of the community. When seeclickfix was first presented to the community, it was as a quality of life resource but as the community really started to connect and document patterns of issues, the city began making it more restrictive rather than use the information as the valuable resource it is. City officials can't be everywhere, so don't remove citizens as eyes and ears of the community. Many people find the information very important as residents and visitors.
