Came here to similarly request the reinstatement of the on-road pedestrian sign. A lot of cars coming through here do not seem familiar with the intersection and are slow to/don’t stop now that that sign is gone.

Bumping this up - just saw a car breeze past a pedestrian trying to cross here, paying no attention to the crosswalk. Please reinstate the on-road pedestrian crossing sign.

I understand that the solar panel doesn't work and it will take a long time to fix that and get the lights connected to the grid. Can we cover the lights in the meantime so drivers do not expect them to turn on and instead put manual signage back up regarding pedestrians? The lights are amazing when they work but when they don't, drivers see them and assume if they aren't flashing they can speed on through.

Thank you for your report. We could not find the moved crossing sign, so we will have the shop place a new one early next week. As with all in-street crosswalk signs, we kindly ask that you move them back into place if you notice them out of place. A paint marking is on the yellow line noting where the sign should be located. This is a longstanding practice and results in the signs being in place with much more frequency. We do note that this may not be an acceptable spot for an in-street sign due to the sweep path of buses, but we will continue to monitor. The flashing crosswalk signs were working as of this morning and drivers were yielding to all pedestrians within the crosswalk whether the buttons were pressed or not. We will still seek to hardwire this location as soon as we can.

Hopefully the damaged/missing sign is an anomaly. It had been there for a long time with active bus routes so I don’t think it was necessarily the bus drivers’ fault, unless a driver had a one-off accident. Perhaps on one of the recent high-wind days it got blown out of place?
