Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns. It is a sad truth that many people are experiencing homelessness during this extremely difficult time. It is not against the law to be homeless and living in a tent or car. The role of the police is to address criminal behavior and direct those who are homeless toward available resources to improve their situation. The only circumstance in which we will ask homeless people to leave their location is if the property owner wishes us to do so. When homeless persons are living on private property, it is up to the owners of the property to have them trespassed. Police cannot remove trespassers without a request from the property owner. Please let us know if you see them committing a crime or if they are loud and disruptive late into the evening.
