Thank you for reporting this issue to us via SeeClickFix St. Pete. The Stormwater Department operates our street-sweeping activities on a scheduled basis, rotating through zones guaranteeing most streets are swept monthly.
Issues of blowing yard debris in the streets could be a code violation. To cite the property owner for this violation, an investigator would have to witness them in the act of blowing lawn debris into the roadway. If this activity is seen again in the future, please call us at 727-893-7373 and report it immediately so that an investigator can be dispatched to the location.
Special requests are reserved for accidents, spills, and road hazards only. Thank you for your help! Sincerely, St Pete Service Center

If city is going to continue this work it would be greatly appreciated if they keep the areas safe. The bike lane on Central from Pasadena to park is full of sand mounds from work. Again, sand is dangerous to a cyclist.

This has actually been an issue well before construction on central began this year. This is the low spot of this area, and was an issue at the time the concrete sidewalk was done in 2017. This is going to be a continuing issue until this area is re-paved with drainage in mind. The concrete should not be lower than the asphalt. There is standing water after a big rain in this same spot, which is collecting all of the debris.
This is not only dangerous for cyclists, but also pedestrians and those in wheelchairs. The remediation shouldn’t stop with cleaning it up.

Thank you all for reporting this issue and contributing to the conversation. I've enlisted the help of my peers in our Engineering and Capital Improvements Department to evaluate the road surface, curb, and sidewalk for proper grade and elevation. I'll be following this request closely and I'll update it as new information becomes available. Again, thank you all.

*Update* After speaking with my colleague in Engineering, we've determined the best course of action is to increase sweeping in this area and ensuring the nearby stormwater drains are free of obstruction until a larger more permanent alteration to the intersection can be made. I'll first send this to our Street Sweeping Team, and then to our Stormwater Environmental Team to check the stormwater management assets in the area. Again, thank you.
