Brendan - it's a TRENCH - it's not hyperbole. Did you even read the whole post? It's 4 by 15 FEET! That's a TRENCH. It was created a few weeks ago when workers dug up the road for some reason. When the excavation was completed, they failed to fill the thing in adequately and didn't put enough blacktop so now there is a huge depression in the road. So, yeah, workers no longer care about the end result of the work performed. It's not a "conclusion" - it's an observation of a reality that looks like the third world. Step away from the computer, get outa mom's basement and take a look for yourself. Cars have to slow down to avoid damaging tires, suspension, undercarriage, etc. What part of this don't you get?

OK. OK. THAT is hyperbole.

A permit is required to dig in the street. If the contractor fails to properly complete the job, why should taxpayers pay to fix the incompetence. Look up the permit, send letter w/ 5 days to fix. If not done, city fixes and a bill for job is sent and followed up until it's paid. No further permits of any kind to this co. All street work should be handled this way!!!

Looks like some blacktop has been applied to fill it in temporarily.
