I believe SeeClickFix blocked my post becaue I used a four letter word pertaining to purgatory... To Anon, I totally agree! The City is on a downword spiral that leaves me feeling sick. Everything from the garbage all over the sidewalks, the increase in violence, active drug users shooting up in the park and on peoples steps, the rampant unlicensed motorcycles and 4 runners terroriziing the city! This is absolutely unacceptable!. I had a friend in town last week, and went to The Iron Gate on Washington Ave, and the entire block / sidewalk was covered in trash! It's a disgrace! Come on Albany, you can do better than this!

Richard I’m glad your friends still come to visit. My friends refuse to come to this neighborhood anymore because of the dangers. Sad what leadership has allowed to happen.

Absolutely right, Richard, and no one I know is interested in coming here anymore either. Why would anyone want to deal with the noise, filth, trash, graffiti, panhandling, drug use dirtbikes, etc. when there are so many better places to go without all of this blight. I'm actually embarrassed to have people see the neighborhood. I've never seen so many people moving out or planning to as soon as possible. The neighborhood assosciation members need to band together and demand change and action. This is going to take a grassroots movement since the city agencies are unresponsive.

Mayor Sheehan has become so engrossed with her own neighborhood downtown and the new warehouse district, the skyway.... all other neighborhoods are suffering immensely. Our performative mayor purchasing a home in an area that she knew was going to be gentrified and leaving the rest of our city to fall apart is deplorable. The codes that were created in Albany to keep the city clean and to respect our parks and buildings are not being enforced. I am at a loss as to why? Is there not enough DGS employees or do they just not know how to deal with this. They are an embarrassment. I have never seen Albany like this. I agree it is so depressing and our city leaders are no where to be found.

I sure wish CoA admin 3 would pipe up and let us know what is being done to fix these and other issues that are consistently reported here but never actually handled.
