Description
A large number of people drive right through this stop sign, many without even looking. I live right on Melrose St and can see this intersection from my window and it is unbelievable how many people simply disregard teh stop sogn. I find it particularly dangerous as there are so many children/teens walking around that area due to the local schools. My son was almost hit on his bike crossing the street in the crosswalk there, a person was texting instead of watching the road and I saw her car's bumper about a foot or less from my son's rear bike tire. Talk about scary! I think this issue should be addressed, perhaps a detail every once in a while, so people won't know when they are there and when not (police ) so they may get in the habit of stopping finally.

March 2013 hasn't arrived yet so I'm not sure how much monitoring is going on.
I watched my son almost get hit at that intersection by a teenage girl texting and never even slowing down at the stop sign, let alone stop
This is a major major problem and I truly hope the Melrose police really monitor it come march
I am right here, I'll be able to see if there is really monitoring going on. I'll be back to report onthe validity of this
Thank you again
