Not only Canner, but West Park and lower Chapel St. near Cold Spring School has these dark new speed humps - I think they are a good idea but they definitely need to have some bright yellow paint on them or you can rip open your undercarriage! The problem with only signage is that there are many other competing signs along these roads which compete for your attention.

Yeah - I drove over these the other day, not familiar with the area and about bit my tongue...I was not going fast at all. :/ Had ZERO clue they were there! Why set up something to deter accidents when this will actually CAUSE accidents?

I hit one on West Park pretty hard tonight. They could definitely use some bright yellow paint.

Just an observation:
Since the speed humps were installed, on Canner St., the traffic on Willow St. has become much heavier, and the speeding and especially the red light running is much worse. Drivers are completely ignoring the "no turn on red" signs @ Willow and Orange St. and they are even turning against the pedestrian crossing light.
When will Willow St. get speed humps? We have three schools in the neighborhood, and the street with the worst traffic, Willow St., is not getting any attention or features to alleviate the negative effects of too many cars.

Thanks for your comments "Car Sewer". You're right that speeding and dangerous driving is a problem on many other streets in the neighborhood. Many drivers run red lights on both Willow and Cold Spring at their intersections with Orange. Getting traffic calming measures on these streets will take effort on neighbors parts to help lobby the city. Canner Street residents were organized, petitioned, showed up to a couple of on-site meetings and came to a consensus on the best way to address the problem. Yes! It's irresponsible to put speed bumps in without painting them - when they blend in with the pavement so much, it doesn't reduce speeding it just does damage to unsuspecting cars. Please paint ASAP, even if just an outline of the arrows to start (as are on the new speed bumps on Edwards), which would be far better than nothing. Those yellow signs are far less helpful than white painted arrows would be.
