I agree people are driving too fast on Winchester!

And if you can’t put signs to break up the 40-60mph speeding then please pull some people over. It’s ridiculous the stop sign blowing and speeding

The VCPD is aware of intermittent speed violators on Winchester and Monmouth Aves. We will increase patrol and enforcement.. A more specific area and time of violators would assist in enforcement. Please email me with an information that would help. dbiagi@police.ventnorcity.org..

Thank you for responding, Chief Biagi. However, i have already provided one location (Rosborough and Winchester), and there is no pattern related to time. Speeding is occurring all through the day. Would it not be more efficient to add some stop signs along Winchester? The chances of police patrol being there at thenexact moments when needed seems random, and if there were stop signs, police patrol could be redirected to other priorities.

I would actually call is frequent opposed to intermittent. I just got back from my daily walk and Lafayette is an actual highway. Yesterday a person was texting and drove past the crossing guard while not looking with kids on the other side of crosswalk. And then the officer in the car was also on phone and missed the entire event. Maybe I am missing the enforcement, but it’s every morning that’s all I can base my observation off.

It’s the same people everyday blasting through stop signs, speeding and texting. I have +700 mornings to base my assumption off, so I feel confident making the claim. There are other ways to bring awareness through free social media platforms or public forums. Happy to volunteer my time to create digital assets if you have any ideas the city can’t afford.

My advice would be to observe Wyoming and Calvert during the hours of 7-9am. I think even giving warnings out to be top of mind, if an officer is available would help bring awareness. I’m a parent and a taxpayer so I feel obligated to speak up I have the utmost respect for law enforcement.
